Q. How do I convert an
image file to an icon? A. Method 1: 1. Choose
the menu item "File -> Open"; Choose file formats in the selection
box; locate your file in the folder. 2. Double-click
the filename, or click the "Open" button. Another dialog box will open.
Drag out a rectangle to select a portion of the image to convert. The portion
you select will be displayed in the preview box. Method
2: 1. Choose the menu item "File -> Import from..." and the "Import
from" dialog box will open; 2. Choose file
formats in the selection box; locate your image file in the folder; click its
filename. The image file will be displayed in the preview box; 3.
Double-click the filename, or click the "Open" button. Another dialog
box will open. Drag out a rectangle to select a portion of the image to convert.
The portion you select will be displayed in the preview box. Choose
an icon size from 16x16 through 80x80, or use a custom size (from 1x1 to 255x255).
Resize the image selected or let it remain in the 1:1
scale. Also, you may click these buttons:
"Paste from Clipboard" - gets an image from Winodws Clipboard;
"Copy to Clipboard" - copies the selected image to the Winodws Clipboard;
"Open" - opens another file; "Reload" - reloads
and refreshes the image; "All" - converts the entire image to an
icon. 4. Finally, click "OK" to finish
the conversion. By default, the color depth of
an icon is "True Colors", but you can easily change this.
