Q. How to make your own animation buddy icons?

A. Step 1. Using the external editor, you can edit each frame for your own animation buddy icons.

Step 2. Choose the menu item "Favorites -> Create new buddy icons", then you can create a new icon in frame editor area.

Step 3. Click the "Insert" button, add the image frames one-by-one.

Step 4. Click the "Save" button, the edited icon file will be saved successfully.

Q. How to use the external editor to edit/modify any frame of Animation buddy icons?

A. Step 1. Choose the menu item "Favorites -> Frame edit", then the frame editor will open, select the frame that you want to edit, then click the "Edit" button.

Step 2. The default editor is our "IconCool Editor". You can also choose the external editor by clicking "Editor", locate your icon editor, then continueˇ­...

Step 3. After you modified it, click the "Save as", save it in anywhere you want.

Step 4. Back to "MY Buddy Icons frame editor", click the "Insert" button, and the "Open file" dialog box will open, locate the file you just saved, then click the "Open", now your file will be inserted successfully.

Step 5. Click the "Delete" button, delete the original frame, then click the "Save" button, now your file will be saved to your Favorite List successfully.

Q. How to create a combination background images?

A. Step 1. Choose the menu item "Combination -> Create background images", and locate your image file, the "Import from..." dialog box will open.

Step 2. In the "Import from..." dialog box, drag out a rectangle to select a part of the image, then click the "OK", the current image you select will be added to the Combination background imag list. You can also select the full of image through clicking the "All" button, then click the "OK". While the background image list will be refreshed, and the new combination background icons will be displayed in the bottom of the image list.

Q. How do I convert my photo files to buddy icons?

A. 1. Choose the menu item "Favorites -> Import from..." and the "Import from" dialog box will open;

2. Choose file formats in the selection box; locate your image file in the folder; click its filename. The image file will be displayed in the preview box;

3. Double-click the filename, or click the "Open" button. Another dialog box will open. Drag out a rectangle to select a portion of the image to convert. The portion you select will be displayed in the preview box.

Choose an icon size "48 x 48".

Resize the image selected or let it remain in the 1:1 scale.

Also, you may click these buttons:

"Paste from Clipboard" - gets an image from Winodws Clipboard;
"Copy to Clipboard" - copies the selected image to the Winodws Clipboard;
"Open" - opens another file;
"Reload" - reloads and refreshes the image;
"All" - converts the entire image to an icon.

4. Finally, click "OK" to finish the conversion.

Q. How do I capcture an image from the desktop or other software?

A. 1. Click the Capture Tool button in the Tools Bar, or choose the "Capture Tool" menu item;

2. Minimize the main windows of MY Buddy Icons; any image that your mouse points to will be displayed within the Preview Window;

3. Press the Ctrl key. When you hear a Bell sound, the image displayed in the Preview Window has been captured. Now return to the My buddy Icons;

 

Q. How do I extract an icon from a file?

A. 1. Choose the menu item "Favorites -> Import from..." and the "Import from" dialog box will open;

2. Choose file formats in the selection box; locate your file in the folder; click its filename.
All the icons in this file will be extracted and listed in the preview box;

3. Double-click the filename, or click the "Open" button. Another dialog box will open. Click on an extracted-icon; it will be displayed in the preview box;

Also, you may click these buttons:
"Copy to Clipboard" - copies the selected icon to the clipboard;
"Open" - opens anther file;
"Reload" - reloads all icons extracted.

4. Click "OK" to finish the importing task and return to editor.
